SNC'S DREAM CHASER --
Interactive Visualizer for America’s Spaceplane
The Challenge --
Sierra Nevada Corporation engaged 900lbs to design and develop an interactive experience to be showcased in their exhibit at the 36th Annual Space Symposium. This interactive experience is centered around their highly-anticipated, customizable multi-mission spacecraft - The Dream Chaser®. The storytelling aspect would focus on flexibility, capacity, reusability, habitability, and versatility of the space plane, with a big emphasis on its journey from Earth and back. 900lbs worked with SNC’s military and aerospace subject matter experts to craft this mission-based interactive.

The Dream Chaser® interactive experience is a unique platform
for users to become enveloped in a spacecraft that will soon
change the way the world goes to space. The experience tells the key “beats” of the story through dynamic photos and short cinematic clips. The user can swipe between the beats of the story and tap on hotspots that trigger additional content. This experience lives on both a 4K capacitive touch-screen TV, a 4K touch-screen tablet and on SNC’s website:

Description --
The experience is divided into a home screen and 6 chapters which take users through a mission timeline. Each chapter highlights key features of the Dream Chaser®. The user navigates through the experience through use of the mission timeline, which lets the user select a chapter or go to the next chapter. If the screen is left idle for 3 minutes, it will revert to the home screen. There is a secondary ambassador control pop-out panel, which allows an ambassador to access all the key functions of the experience without reaching across the screen, keeping the view clear for viewers.

Utilizing 3D assets of Dream Chaser® and Shooting Star we created compelling transitional cinematics that emphasize the spacecraft’s capabilities throughout the mission. At each point in the journey’s timeline we incorporated visuals with interactive hot spots to learn more about the various capabilities and features that make Dream Chaser® and Shooting Star transport vehicle an innovative solution for multi-mission needs, both manned and unmanned.
